Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial House 國父史蹟紀念館

There is always some place that really close to where you live but you have never been to as New Yorkers never bother go to the top of the Empire State Building. Just like this one - Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial House (國父史蹟紀念館) in Taipei City, Taiwan.

Located one block away from Taipei Railroad Station, the Memorial House is actually hidden in a small but beautiful Yat-Sen Park (逸仙公園). It consists a Japanese house where Dr. Sun Yat-Sen stayed during his visit to Taipei, a Japanese garden, a small pond, and a pavilion.

It's a nice place to go but there was NO PEOPLE around. It's kind of a deserted place. But if you'd like to enjoy the slow part of Taipei, go try to find this attraction in the heart of the city.

Yinghe Cave Trail 銀河洞越嶺步道

I tried to be a more outdoor person during my stay in Taipei, so I did a somewhat easy trail with my former colleagues. We started from HsinTien and ended at National ChengChi University (NCCU), Mu-Zha.
The trail is getting more popular because of the newly-built MaoKong Gondola, which is not in operation right now due to a serious erosion of pillar foundation.

The best part of the trail is the waterfall in the photo. In addition, you can go underneath the waterfall and pay a visit to a secret god statue. After that, enjoying a pot of wonderful tea in MaoKong and walking around NCCU campus add frills to the city retreat.
